Project Introduction

Jiangxi South Cement Co., Ltd. is the project partner, and Yongfeng South is the subsidiary. The parent company is CNBM, the central enterprise supervised directly by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the Fortune Global 500 Company, and has strict supplier admission standards and technical review systems.

Founded on March 13, 2009, Jiangxi South Cement Co., Ltd. has the registered capital of RMB 3 billion and total assets more than RMB 16 billion. Main business includes R&D, production and sales of clinker, cement, ready-mixed concrete and construction aggregates. Annual clinker production capacity: 16.44 million tons; cement production capacity: 28.7 million tons; ready-mixed concrete production capacity: 6.6 million m³ ; aggregate production capacity: 34 million tons, which makes the company the largest comprehensive building materials manufacturer and service provider in the province. The company strengthens aggregate production and requires extremely high equipment performance and finished sand and gravel quality.

Project Background & Production Line Pains

In the existing limestone aggregate production line of Jiangxi South Cement, there is a set of mature process of two-stage rock crushing + two-stage sand making. Two-stage rock crushing mainly uses jaw crusher and cone crusher to reduce the sizes of the raw materials. The existing production line has one non-MP VSI vertical shaft impact crusher – the rock crusher again, responsible for the first-stage coarse sand making process. When producing, the limestone raw material is reduced to 5~10mm and then fully entered the existing non-MP VSI sand making machine, providing semi-finished material for the downstream finished sand making process.

After long-time and high-volume continuous production, the existing non-MP VSI sand making machine showed obvious process disadvantages. Main pain points are severe: The output sand is coarse and granular, with poor size uniformity, and can not reach the high-end fine sand standards. This leads to the final product not being able to reach the sales requirement of the customer and restricts the upgrading of the product and earning profits.

In order to overcome the deficiencies of the original sand making process thoroughly, fill the fine sand making gap and improve the quality of the finished sand and gravel, the customer initiated an open tender, selecting the suitable fine sand equipment and solution supplier.

MP's Customized Solution

The MP added a new VSI400A vertical shaft impact crusher to the production line of Jiangxi South Cement, locating it as the second-stage fine sand making machine. This rock crusher is specially used to solve the coarse and unqualified gradation of the original fine sand output made by the existing non-MP VSI sand making machine.

Facing the fundamental pain point of coarse and uneven semi-finished sand from the existing non-MP coarse sand making rock crusher, analyzing the on-site limestone properties and original production line conditions strictly, MP designed an advanced "two-stage rock crushing + two-stage VSI sand making + closed-circuit screening" process. Double-stage division of coarse and fine is exactly to compensate for the disadvantages of the original process and solve the difficulty problem in the industry of consistent finished sand quality.

The whole process flow is very clear and precise: In the front-end two-stage rock crushing process, the limestone raw material goes through the jaw crusher and cone crusher and produces standard 5~10mm feed. In the first-stage coarse sand making process, the 5~10mm feed enters the existing VSI crusher of the customer and is processed into semi-finished material with the main size of 3~5mm and part particle over 5mm. In the second-stage fine sand making process, all the semi-finished material will enter the MP VSI400A rock crusher, which works in the mature rock-on-iron mode, especially suitable for limestone fine sand making. In the final closed circuit screen process, the powdered material is passed through the 3mm screen; the ≤3mm particles will be classified as fine sand, whereas the >3mm particles will be returned to the rock crushing machine.

The VSI400A vertical shaft impact crusher selected in this project is with excellent configuration and reliable operation, and its parameters are matched perfectly with the customer's needs for large-scale and high-quality aggregate production. Here are detailed parameters and configuration:

Basic equipment parameters: Model VSI400A, rock-on-iron mode, motor power 250 kW, max feed size 55 mm, rotor speed 1400~1680 r/min, processing capacity 193~250 t/h, total machine weight 11,780 kg, max maintenance lifting weight 4,000 kg, overall dimensions (L×W×H) 3992×2560×3219 mm.

Core drive motor parameters: Motor model Y355M-4, power 250 kW, voltage 380 V, speed 1480 r/min, current 444 A, insulation class F, protection class IP55, efficiency 95.1%, motor weight 1,700 kg.

Components and coating: The rock crusher is equipped with SKF cylindrical roller bearings and SKF deep groove ball bearings, greatly increasing stability and longevity. Besides, it is equipped with a high-class coating process which can offer corrosion and wear resistance: one coating of epoxy zinc phosphate primer and two coatings of Nippon Paint polyurethane. Hence, it is well-suited to long-term operation under harsh outdoor industrial conditions.

Implementation of the Project and the Strengths of MP

Due to the central government-owned enterprise's strict supplier qualification, technology evaluation, and competitive bidding process, the bidding procedure for this project was very standardized and strict, which was quite tough as well. Bidding started on May 25, 2026. Thanks to deep technical accumulation, a mature sand making rock crusher system, tailor-made solution and plenty of practical experience in servicing large mining and industrial enterprises, MP went through many strict evaluations and won the bid on May 29, 2026.

As the core rock crusher of the second-stage fine sand making process, VSI400A vertical shaft impact crusher is specifically targeted at filling up the quality deficiency left behind by the customer's original coarse sand equipment. Now it has been installed in place with all the installation conditions being confirmed, thus getting ready for feed commissioning and start-up.
